What Should Job Descriptions Look Like in the 2020 Decade?

Program Details: Deb Ford and Fran Lefavour team up to present a unique combination of both the legal and human resource side of developing and updating job descriptions, with their usual humor included for free.

Deb will concentrate on the legal significance of job descriptions in hiring decisions, performance management, terminations, and in defending claims.  She will focus on the legal impact of job descriptions including ADA, FLSA and EEO considerations with emphasis on the legal issue of using a job description to support ADA reasonable accommodation decisions and exempt and non exempt status under FLSA.  Managers will receive practical pointers and learn the legal import of job descriptions.

Fran will focus on how you take Deb’s legal advice back to your office and start the process.  In her 40+ years in human resources she has learned that listening to what we need to do as HR professionals and going back and actually getting started are two different things.  Her presentation will be focused on the preparation needed to develop a job description, things she learned the hard way you should include that you didn’t think you needed and making sure your job description is geared to the job and not the person currently performing the duties.

This will be an interactive session with interruptions from the audience welcomed and encouraged!!
