Position Title: HR Assistant at Radiation Safety & Control Service
Summary:
We are seeking an HR Assistant to support the HR department, primarily with Onboarding, electronic file maintenance/organization and benefit enrollments. This person will also be trained to become a payroll back-up.

The key responsibility of this position is to support the Human Resource department processes. The Human Resource Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s human resource department.
Essential Functions:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Conducts or assists with new hire onboarding process.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
• Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
• Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
• Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
• Provides clerical support to the HR department.
• Act as a back-up for payroll processing. Assists with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.
• Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers.
• Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, company-wide meetings, employee recognition and celebration events.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Competencies:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer software applications.
• Self-starter with excellent organization skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Summary of Position
The Human Resources Business Partner role contributes to company performance by providing tactical and strategic consulting on people and organizational development strategies in support of the business objectives. Performs HR related duties at the professional level while supporting more than one functional group. Will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations consultation; policy application, performance management process, organization design and employee initiatives and training support.

Duties/Responsibilities
Partners with leadership to align HR strategy with business strategy. Acts as change agent to the business through process design and approaches that support change and transformation – striving to lead mutual processes to best practice status.
Primary point of contact for managers and employees to understand HR services delivery model and obtain services.
Employee and Labor Relations
Work with leaders and employees to create/sustain a successful work environment.
Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues Manages labor relations initiatives Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations, often in conjunction with HR Senior Leadership and Legal Counsel Manage in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Ensures that policies and procedures are followed as needed to resolve certain concerns
Performance Management
Oversees and manages all activities related to the performance management cycle, sensitization and monitoring of the process to ensure its effectiveness and relevance to the business needs Develop and communicate the strategic vision, scope, priorities, processes, systems, and tools of the performance management unit Work with Human Resources Information System to ensure the development, enhancement or acquisition of the Information Technology tools needed to support the performance management activities Supports annual HR cycle deliveries to include merit and bonus awards, benefits enrollment, etc.
Additional Duties:
Identifies organizational development opportunities and facilitates identification/creation of employee training organization programs Workforce Planning and Succession Planning Answers employees as needed or connects them with resources within HR that have the expertise to address the needs/concerns Evaluates issues, patterns, and trends to provide insights for HR solution and programs designs i.e., training to address certain needs Champion strategic HR initiatives and programmatic changes and support the engagement with employees and supervisors related to these activities.

Other Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related business-related field. Five to eight years of HR experience with at least two years of experience as a Generalist and/or HR Business Partner experience. Higher Education experience a plus, along with work experience in a unionized setting preferred. Professional Human Resources certification from SHRM/HRCI or other similar professional organization is also preferred.
